If i read the announcement correctly, 1.5 is capable of being installed once, but serve multiple virtual hosts. Where is the documentation that supports that feature?
If indeed it supports virtual hosts, and i already have two hosts on the same server, each one running 1.4, what is the migration procedure from two completely separated 1.4 galleries to one 1.5 install that serves two virtual hosts?

I'm pretty sure that means something else, though I'd be ecstatic to learn otherwise.

(I'd also be ecstatic if Gallery were ever documented.)

Yeah...
Sure would be nice if someone wrote up some Documentation for this... or at the very least a FAQ! I mean, how should people know what to do when they need help?

I realize this is GNU GPL software, but, come on... what are we paying for here?

(a) Much of that documentation is years out of date. It has not been kept in sync with development very well. You'll note that the documentation does not address the original poster's question, or even acknowledge the existence of many features added since 1.2-ish.

(b) I've donated a fair bit, mostly in the hope that Gallery2 would be out sooner rather than later (in 2002 it was expected in 2003...), as my gallery is groaning under the weight of 16,000+ photos.

I have been using gallery for a while now and I have created a patch for the feature that you want. To use the same gallery codebase for several virtual hosts but with different config.php files for each.

I wrote a patch for gallery that you may find here:
