When users view my gallery via the fullscreen applet, they always get a security warning (I guess this comes from IE) indicating that 'The security certificate has expired or is not yet valid'. I know users can say to trust content from "Gallery", but getting this dialog makes most people very nervous. What can be done so that the certificate is made up to date or valid? Thanks.

Update the applets with new ones from http://galleryupdates.jpmullan.com, or install 1.5-RC3

For now I'll just update the applets, though I'm not sure which .ZIP to get. I'm running 1.4.4-pl6 and all the builds in the 'Remote' section seem to pertain to 1.4.2. Thanks for your help.
The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version: 1.4.4-pl6
Apache version: *not sure where to find this*
PHP version: PHP v4.3.10
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick
Operating system: Win2k
Web browser/version (if applicable): IE 6

1.4.2 is the revision number for applets. Just grab the latest version.

Thanks. I've downloaded current_gallery_remote_applets.zip and used PICOZIP to unzip it. But I'm not sure which of the four .JAR files inside to open, or what to do with the files inside the .JAR once I do so! I hadn't realized that the fullscreen slideshow applet is part of Gallery Remote.
I'm pretty new to all this -- my web host installed Gallery for me. Thanks very much for your help.
Gallery version: 1.4.4-pl6
Apache version: 1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP version: 4.3.10
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick
Operating system: Win2000
Web browser/version: IE 6.0

Thanks. On that page I see:
"You can download the most recent version of the applets from the nightly builds site. Get the latest version of the file remote/gallery_remote_applets.version.zip and unzip it into your java/ directory inside the Gallery Remote directory."
I'm a newcomer at this, so bear with me. I don't see a 'Gallery Remote' directory on my web server. I see a 'gallery' directory that does has a 'java' subdirectory under it -- is that what you mean? Thanks.

Thanks for pointing that out. It should be: unzip into your gallery/java directory.

I downloaded 'current_gallery_remote_applets.zip' to my PC, unzipped them with PICOZIP, and then FTP'ed the four .JAR files:
GalleryRemoteHTTPClient.jar
GalleryRemoteAppletMini.jar
GalleryRemoteApplet.jar
applet_img.jar
to the gallery/java directory on my webserver. Still getting the Security Warning when I go to fullscreen applet slideshow. Any idea what could be going wrong?
I do have Gallery Remote installed on my PC, if that makes any difference.

Did you flush your browser's applet cache (hit C in the Java console or restart your browser)?

Hi, I cleared the Java console cache *and* restarted my browser, and I'm still getting the Security Warning. The .JAR files are dated 3/1/05.
I don't know if this is a clue, but: I notice that with these new .JAR files it now takes longer than it used to for the Java applet to download.
Any thoughts? Thanks much for your help.

Can you PM me the URL to your Gallery install?

You're getting a security warning, of course, but it says that the cert is valid. This is normal.
