I have changed the permissions on the .htaccess file in the setup directory to 777 but the configuration wizard in step four states "Error: File .htaccess is not writable by the webserver - chmod it 777 before preceeding." and will not let me save my changes. Please help!

Thanks - it was the file in the setup. For some reason when I changed it the setting didn't stick - I had the administrator of my web server do it and now all is working.
