Gallery causes phpBB messages to be marked "read"

Ok, I browsed around and didn't find anything about this elsewhere, and I was able to just confirm it again today.

I have Gallery v1.4.4-pl6 integrated in to phpBB 2.0.13 at www.mnmilitia.com for our paintball team.

The install went great, the directions worked well enough since I know a bit about php and working with the themes and all. I had to make a few changes since my stuff is in forums/mods, not modules

I was even able to direct the new install (I had previously installed Gallery as a standalone) to use the existing albums.

The one problem I seem to be having through, if i go in to my fourms and have new messages, but then go to the gallery before I read them, and then go back to the forums, all the messages that were new are now marked as having been read.

Anyone have any suggestions?
