Using XP publishing wizard with Gallery embeded in mambo

Hello, I am running mambo and gallery 1.5 all is running great. however, I want to allow users to upload via the xp publishing wizard. but it seems that the same user login that works while gallery is in embbeded mode does not work when attempting to use the xp wizard.

I also discovered that if i bring up my gallery install outside of mambo, (www.mysite.com/gallery) that none of the user logins work. is there a way around this?

if not, and users have register in gallery specifically, in order to use the xp wizard, does it affect their ability to admin their albums while in embedded mode?

Edit:
I also noted that while gallery is in stand alone mode, that none of the albums are "owned" by anyone but while in embedded mode the albums are owned by thge proper users.
