"unexpected T_STRING" error??

When I try to upload images to an album within Gallery, I get the following error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/thechic/public_html/gallery/modules/core/classes/GalleryDerivativeImage.class on line 257

By the way, this is a fresh install. Any ideas? :-?

there must have been an error when you uploaded G2 to your webserver (ftp?).

please replace the file /home/thechic/public_html/gallery/modules/core/classes/GalleryDerivativeImage.class, upload the file again.
(and don't use winzip to unzip gallery2.zip).
