.htaccess file

	i am trying to install gallery but on the final part where it tells you what problems you need to fix it say i need to make a file call .htacces and chmod it 777. i have done this but when i click on refresh it says 500 internal error and i cant change the httpd.conf on the server to fix this. How can i install gallery :-? :-? ---- Gallery version: 1.4.4 Apache version: 1.3.27 PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): unsure Graphics Toolkit: unsure Operating system: xp home Web browser/version (if applicable): internet explorer 6

	i have done what the faq says to do but i cant access the httpd.conf file on the server and delteting the .htaccess file in teh setup directory doesnt help. The cinfigeration wizard still wants me to create the .htacces file and set it to 777.

	Is the server hosted by someone else? You dont have root access? Do you have an url to the server/gallery?
