I have just upgraded to 1.4.4pl6 from 1.4.4pl4. I want to run the configuration wizard. I go to the appropriate URL and I get the following message (NB: my site details removed for privacy)
Warning: mkdir(/home/mysite/public_html/gallery-1.4.4-pl4/albums/.users): No such file or directory in /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/classes/gallery/UserDB.php on line 43
Error: Unable to create dir: /home/mysite/public_html/gallery-1.4.4-pl4/albums/.users
Upgrading Users
The user database in your gallery was created with an older version of the software and is out of date. This is not a problem! We will upgrade it. This may take some time. Your data will not be harmed in any way by this process. Rest assured, that if this process takes a long time now, it's going to make your gallery run more efficiently in the future.
If you get an error, and only some users are upgraded, try refreshing the page to upgrade remaining users.
Please Wait...
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/classes/gallery/UserDB.php on line 328
My Question: The page is fully loaded (ie: Done). Do I just wait for whenever and this is automatically ugraded (how long does it take...have been waiting a day so far?) and I should be able to get into the configuration wizard or am I supposed to contact someone or what?
Thanks,
T.

Hello,
I've been away for a while without access to internet etc, thus my belated reply.
Yes, I followed the above guide...upgrading with FTP. I am at step 5 - "rerun the configuration wizard"
I did change the location of gallery on my website from: http://www.asianfantasyfactory.com/gallery-1.4.4-pl4/gallery
TO
http://www.asianfantasyfactory.com/gallery
I am now trying to access the configuation wizard. I am trying both http://www.asianfantasyfactory.com/gallery-1.4.4-pl4/gallery/setup/index.php
AND
http://www.asianfantasyfactory.com/gallery/setup/index.php
without success.
Please take a look at these URL's and see the error messages I'm getting. I will appreciate any feedback you can give.
Regards,
T.

From what I can see you did a upgrade and changed directories at the same time; is this correct?
If this is the case you should have done a clean install on the new directory and then copied the exsisting albums to the new albums directory. Then run find orphans.
How may items do you have in exsisting albums?
If there is not may....It might be best to start over again, with a clean instll in the new directory with new config.php and new albums directory.

Dave,
Okay thanks for getting back to me.
What I did was as follows:
Initially I had a few folders in the /gallery-1.4.4-pl4/ folder (albums, albums_temp, moviethumbs, watermarks). I had the rest of gallery in the gallery folder (ie: http://www.asianfantasyfactory.com/gallery-1.4.4-pl4/gallery).
I then sent you the work to do and got the files back from you with the advice to upgrade to pl6 etc.
I decided to get rid of the /gallery-1.4.4-pl4/ folder (I put the, albums, albums_temp, moviethumbs, watermarks, folders in the www folder). Is this okay to do or should I have them in the gallery folder? I also put the /gallery/ folder in the www folder (ie: http://www.asianfantasyfactory.com/gallery).
I then upgraded gallery by FTP, assuming that all previous gallery files would be over written by the new upgrade.
I am now at step 5 (the config wizard) but can't access it as said before...

I think the best thing to do is start over again removing all the directories that you have created since you never answered my question about if you have albums with content.
