I have created 4 albums and want to let 4 different groups each view one of them. I have created 4 groups and a user in each group. I have changed permissions to allow only one of the groups to view each album.
But when I log in as one of those members I cannot see any group. I have messed with permissions and ownership a bunch but cant get it to happen at all. Nothing really happens when I log in. Login block remains visible. I would like to keep ownership to the admin account. I changed that with no better result.

Any Hints for me? Am I totally missing something? It is a new installationand I am a relative ignoramus but installation went well with no errors.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

for each album, remove all permissions for the group "everybody". leave all permissions for "site admin".

now start by adding ALL (full control) group permissions to each album for the corresponding group that owns it.

now login as a member, and make sure they only see that ONE album that group owns... you are halfway there.

Now remove each single permission that you dont want them to have... Delete items? Move Items? Add Subalbums? etc...

If you have more trouble please let us know.
Thanks

also make sure your root album either has view permissions for everybody or view permission for all 4 groups..
