3 slowly moving pictures

I would like to have 3 areas on my homepage where the pictures slowly slide by. Here is an example of the impression I want to give

What I know:
I have seen the code which will enable me to loop on pictures automatically. I found that a few pages deep on this forum

What I think I know:
I am guessing that I can modify the picture page such that I can place the pictures on the page next to each other, based on the tutorials that I have garnered from this forum. I have only read some of those tutorial. If I am mistaken please let me know.

What I do not know:
If my pictures are of different sizes some bigger and some small how can I get them to all display evenly in say a 400px by 250px area?

Please advise and correct any misperceptions that I have.

I only want show three pitctures simultaneously in 3 adjacent fixed positions

Even a suggestion of where to start would be helpful

The header graphic of the example you use, is done in flash. not in gallery. Therefore, to create the header you want you would have to crop your pictures, and create a banner using software outside of gallery.

First Thank you for your reply and consideration.

I am aware that the exampled site is done in Flash. I do not wish to use Flash. My audience would get lost in a download of Flash.

There are five characteristics that I believe will give the same impression as the Flash show. I am hoping Gallery can provide all four.

One:
Placing a picture any place on the page inside a 1 row 3 column table.

Two:
Placing three albums on the page. showing an album in each cell of the 1x3 table.

Three:
Showing three slideshows simultaneously; a different show in each cell.

Four:
All the pictures will need to expand or shrink to fit the cell. I use ImageMagicK, which seems to not control the size of the picture as I require. Perhaps I am doing something wrong here?

Five:
Did I say five? I forgot what five is. I am sure it will come up later.

Sorry about being confusing with a flash show. The example was the closest that I could come up with to illustrate my design. I definitely want to to use Gallery. I though about it for 3 weeks eliminating Flash in the process.
