go to G2 -> Site Admin -> Random/Popular (imageblock) (perhaps you'll have to activate the image block first (in modules ->... activate)).
There you'll see the php code required to display a random/popular/newest/... image on any php website.

wait, where is this code then? i already enabled random images but if you 'view source' on the page it just points to the particular image that was genderated by gallery.

docs for imageframes are there in the same place if you're using a recent snapshot; to just add a css border define class giThumbImage
