Downloaded and installed last nights build (love the upgrading! Easy!!)... fixed the User Album thing, but now that I can create new users and allow them to upload images I discovered something weird. Can anyone explain...?
As the Gallery Admin I post an image, or 3, and they show up in the Gallery. All three of them... Then, when I logout and log back in as someone else, a non-Admin, I upload 3 images and only one shows up, with the remaining 2 showing up in a separate album, accessible when you click the thumbnail on the main page. I wanted to have all 3 of the new users images show up there, not just one that links to the others.
Plus, seems like other users can gain ownership to anybody else's photos by choosing to add them to their own gallery.
If you visit the site I'm working on you can see for yourself. Maybe I'm trying to do something with G2 that shouldn't be done. I'd like a home page to show a bunch of thumbnails, but to me it looks like the whole gallery is owned by the Admin and all the others are sub-albums of the Admins. I looked to see if other users can have an album on the same "level" as the Admin and it doesn't seem to be there. Weird.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

"not just one that links to the others" --- maybe you don't understand the "album" concept? G1 and G2 both use an album hierarchy, just like folders or directories on your computer. you're not seeing one image that links to the others.. you're seeing an album which contains all those images.. each album has a "highlight" which you see as the thumbnail when viewing the album's parent.
if you want the images to appear in your top level album then pick "add items" from the top level instead of when you're inside a subalbum. if you want any user to be able to do this you'll probably need to adjust the permissions of the top level album since by default only an admin can put things there.
by the way, it's nice to put a warning with your links to pornographic material.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it...
Porn? Don't think so... I know porn and it ain't that... some of the finest fine art nude photographers are patiently waiting for this site to appear. the same images being used at rejects, but not offensive to the majority of people who've seen them..
Fine Art, not porn... the female form is the most beautiful creation on the planet.
I apologize if I offended you though...

It's not really an issue of porn vs. not-porn. The issue is, can the people who are helping you click that link at work. We have day jobs and we take a little time out to help people in the forums, but it's going to get us in trouble if we're putting up images of naked women on the screen. A "not safe for work" tag is appreciated. Thanks.

I'll make sure to do that today. Sorry about that, I keep forgetting that most people work outside their home. I work from bed all day, every day... but then I am disabled.
Anyway, I tried working with permissions to allow users to create albums on the parent level, but it doesn't work. It will have to be modified I suppose.
Right now, the Admin's gallery is the PARENT and all the users are in sub-directories of the Admin's gallery, is that right? Or am I missing something?

The permissions interface is a little muddled. But if you edit the permissions on the top level album, you should be able to grant permissions for *any user* to add sub-albums. Try it and let us know what goes wrong.
