Need help with Nokia Upload. I've searched and read (I think) all references here to the Nokia Upload module already, and now would like some help. If there is anyone that would be willing to help me test if my inability to upload is on my server side or phone side, I would very much appreciate it. Especially someone using a Nokia 6620 successfully to upload elsewhere. My cellular providor is Cingular, and with their merger related issues their support leaves much to be desired. Anyone with this capability that can help is welcome to send me an email at , then register themselves on my gallery (www.thorlind.com/gallery), and I will grant access to the Mobile Users group for testing purposes. Many thanks in advance! Server is shared server hosted at pairNetworks. Gallery URL (optional): www.thorlind.com/gallery |

I will be in front of my PC only sporadically much of today, although will nearly always be nearby. If you think you can help, and have some time, you can send me an email at
, and I should get notified on my cell phone. Thanks again in advance!

I finally decided to contact Nokia's support group directly for help with this. The rep I worked with was great; he performed several tests for me, confirming that the server itself is just fine. My problem with uploading images directly from my phone is with my provider.

tfarrow, could you share more of that conversation for the benefit of those of us who are as dreadful of calling cell company support. What kind of tests? could you run those tests if you knew about them? what was the fix and how can we suggest this fix to the tech (who might not be as great as yours)...
I think we can all use this info! And of course, it's great to know that the server/gallery is working fine!

Certainly. Essentially, I explained what the issue was, that my cellular provider (Cingular) did not have any idea what I was talking about, and that I was looking for some one to try to upload a picture to my site to ensure that the server side was working OK.
The tests were simply to successfully use a cell phone to upload a picture to my site. His first attempt didn't work, trying to put the picture into the "Test User" album, but then he was able to upload a picture to the "Pictures from mobile phones" album. He tried again to put a picture directly into the "Test User" album, this time successfully, and then going back to the "Pictures from mobile phones" album, created a new album and then posted a picture there as well.
All of this proved to me that there was nothing wrong about my server install, but unfortunately, I still cannot upload pictures myself from my own phone. I have not verified it, but I suspect that the extra data plan that I susbscribed to at Cingular is not a general internet plan, but a "wap" site only plan.
