Small problem, well advice please for a novice...
I have installed G2 (Nice Commits) and a small problem with the cart and zip download..

I managed to find a zip program (binary)which I ftp'ed into my web space, I was unsure as to where to put it so I created a directory and placed it in there, a file simply called ZIP

Now using firefox I am able to add photo's to my cart and download them and the file is saved as g2cart.

Using IE I do the same thing and the file is saved as main.php....!!!
I rename it's extension to zip and it's ok.

I was also confused as to which zip I needed as they had different names ie
zip23x-glibc
zip23x-libc5

Which I downloaded from http://www.info-zip.org/

If anyone could offer some advice and help... and where this file should be placed and why I get the download using IE

Regards Steve

Many hanks for the reply Mindless, I have downloaded the lastest snapshot earlier today, but is it just a matter of installing over the top of the exisiting files or is it this CVS format I keep reading about as I'm afraid I'm limited in the technical knowledge department for me to try this option.

I did try downloading a file from another site who is running G2 and I was getting the same thing with them, downloads fine with firefox but IE it attempts to download main.php

see README.html
just extract the new snapshot over your install.

Upgraded ok, and zip problem solved...
Just a quick one, how do I know which version of G2 I am now running or do I go by the archive date?

Thanks for your help.

the alt text for the gallery2 image in the footer has the version.. but we only update it right now for releases (alpha-4, etc).. so for now you have to go by the archive date as you suggested. eventually we'll have a cvs version too (like G1 has).
