do Resize & max size before upload

when using Gallery Remote with "resize before upload" turned on, I only upload the Max Image Size version, and then that version (already compressed & resized) is being used on the server to create the even smaller .sized version of the file.

shouldn't the .sized version of image also be created from the full-sized original on the local pc and then be uploaded? that would improve image quality and reduce server load. yes, it would take 2 uploads per file, but the .sized version, which is the default of what people see, would be the best quality possible.

just a thought..

i know i'm repling to my own message, but do any of the admin's/programmers know if this is a possibility? or is it a limitation of the way uploads are handled?

We could do that, but right now the choice we've made is to keep the upload as small as possible. I could add that in a later release, but it would be fairly low priority, IMHO.
