Is there a tutorial on customizing g2? Or is it exactly the same as customizing gallery v.1?
I've been fumbling around with the theme.css file trying to figure out the changes they create to the g2 file but have yet to mess with the html_wrap files...where can i locate these files? All I'm trying to do is integrate g2 seamlessly into the rest of my site.

And to do this i would need to modify all colors to reflect my site, and add my .swf header and a custom footer with my existing links.

There's no tutorial yet, but it's pretty easy. You can customize practically every page by editing templates/global.tpl. Read and follow the instructions at the top of the file (they detail how you can copy the file instead of modifying it yourself). Adding HTML to this page will do most of the work for you.

Try that out, then let us know if you have specific changes you want to make and we'll tell you what to edit next.

thanks bharat that was alot easier...

Can the gallery be in a table that matches the width of my header and footer? I was adjusting the left and right margins but i'm not sure that would universally make sense across different browsers and screen resolutions.

Also how do i change the white bg behind the individual albums?

Sure, there's nothing to stop you from wrapping the main content in a table to suit your needs. Just preserve the smarty tags and experiment.

To change the background color you need to install a new theme. Here's a sample new theme that you can play with in this thread

i'm not sure if anyone else experiences this but the login tab seems to have such a dark bg that the text you write to log-in and pw, seems to be nearly invisible.

oh ya bharat i was wondering if there was an easy way to put that random image generator on another page seperate from g2. I wanted to put it on the index page if pos.

The random image block Site Admin page explains to you how to use it externally...
