It appears that the first time I view a g2 page the slide down thing happens. where the whole page shifts into a straight line down. If I reload the page it will go back to normal.

There was a bug in A4 that caused this behaviour, that we've fixed since. The first time when the page loads (and your styles are screwed up) look at the HTML source for the stylesheet link. Does it look malformed? (paste it here). If so, try upgrading to the latest snapshot and see if that fixes the problem.

Css looked fine no malformed tags. Updated to most recent snap and still have the problem.

Also I should mention if I reload the page a couple of times, sometimes just once it rights itself as far as the shifting down but still no footer.

I am no longer seeing the footer in IE, it shows in Firefox. Any ideas?
Interesting. I have had the same problem. I have put Firefox and Thunderbird buttons in the footer. Until just a few days ago I would see them when using Firefox, but not with IE. Today they are no longer there, regardless of the browser I use. I've checked global.tpl, which looks fine, yet no buttons snow in the footer.

The footer is under the album contents due to position:absolute on #gsAlbumContents, which was added so IE won't push the album stuff down below the sidebar. CSpotkill, do you have a patch for that patch to resolve this?

Not at the moment. I'll ping thumb70 (our UI guy) about it.

Looks like a commit to fix something in IE 5 on the Mac may cause this problem in IE 6. I believe I've corrected it but want to make sure that the fix hasn't broken anything else. Hope to commit the fix soon.

This should be fixed now. I rolled back to the previous version and it seemed to fix the problem. Let me know. Rolling back, however, reintroduced a problem. See http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=23874
