I encounter very often "invalid session" messages when I try to "quick reply" a message. The problem occurs less oftenly when replying through the dedicated page.
If the site is very busy and you take a long time to reply, you can have this problem. It comes from the way that phpBB2 is integrated into PostNuke (and it causes a ton of other issues for me, the site administrator). I'm working on fixing it but it hasn't been the highest priority. One trick that I employ on most websites is that right before I submit a post, I select it and hit the "copy" button (ctrl-c on windows) so that if something goes wrong, I can always paste it back into a new message.
