Great program guys! You all should be proud!
I have a small easy to implement suggestion: Would it be easy to add an image to a movie thumbnail? If I could play the movie and grab a screen cap via print screen or something to use as a thumb that would make movie albums look much more appealing.
Again, nice job.

Were there is a will, there is a way.
Check http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index&pagename=Changing%20Movie%20Thumbnails%20%28Low-Tech%2C%20NOT%20ffmpeg%29
In G2 it uses ffmpeg to do it automatically for you.

Low tech and not automated, but cool. I'll do it until g2 comes out.
Cool and automatic. I can't wait!
Thanks.

Is it buggy? What's holding up the release?
Uh, and is there a hack to get a highlight on my "videos" album? The "highlight" option isn't in the "Edit Movie" drop down for movies.

It's still in Alpha. The alphas are stable, but they're not supported in production environments, and there's no official upgrade support yet.

EricS, to get a highlight, upload an image to the album and use it (you can always hide it so it doesn't show up in the album).

Did that. It gave each of the videos a highlight (much better), but not the album itself. The album says "No highlight" and there is no highlight option in the <<Edit Movie>> pull down. My gallery is here if you want to look.
Is this the bast place for where this topic is going???
Thanks,
Eric S

Upload the image you want as a highlight, as an image in the album. Then chose that image as a highlight for the album, then hide it.

That worked. And you only had to tell me twice! Thanks.

I'm trying to upload a new thumb using this method, but cannot overwrite the system generated thumb file.. it has file permissions set at 664 and I cannot change.. for some reason the file will not accept any changes.
I'm using 1.4.4 pl4 on postnuke 726
I've tried uploading the new thumb file through my hosting page and also using wsftp.. I tried changing the permissions on thumb file using those same methods... no luck..
am I doing something wrong?

Don't know about wsftp but I use winscp. Right click -> properties and check the boxes to get 777. No convenient way to change permissions though. Still use PuTTY for that (chown apache:apache your.thumb.jpg).
Don't know if that helps, but it works for me. I'm using 1.4.4 pl4 stand alone.
