Adobe has folded Photoshop Album functionality into the latest version of Elements (3.0). It seems they also made a few subtle database schema changes that broke album2gallery. This new release includes support for PSE3 as well as a few SQL query optimizations. I no longer have Photoshop Album and am unable to test with it. Please let me know if there are any issues with it. http://www.laportestyle.org/tools.php thanks, |

David looks like a neat program. Any chance you want to modify it for ACDSee It is just what I am looking for. Do you simply upload with WebDAV...interesting? ACDSee actually has an export as XML feature that could do much of the work. |

It's been a while since I looked at ACDSee. If I remember right, they have a fairly proprietary backend that prevented me from supporting it. If you can find any details on how I could read the data out, I'd be happy to add support. An XML export may do the trick, but I'd prefer to not add the extra step. |

Well after evaluation various options I think I will go with Elements 3.0 with the built in Album. So I will not need the support myself. I looked at ACDSee and it appears to use the DB2 database format. There is a direct PERL plugin for the format. I am waiting on my copy of Elements 3. It looks like the "light" version of album has a slightly different db schema. I was looking at writing a Java tool that could perhaps go into Gallery Remote. Not sure if I will have the time though. I am not familier with Swing..... Thanks for getting back to me. |
