Using 1.4.4.

Just tried uploading a new album for the first time in 1 month.
Switched to the big applet, getting the following error when I try to upload a file:

"An optional part of Gallery Remote, ImageMagick, could not be found or is malfunctioning. Gallery Remote will not be able to resize images before uploading them, and loading thumbnails and previews will be much slower.
You can find out how to fix this by going to Gallery Remote Known Problems http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=GalleryDocs&file=index&page=gallery-remote.problems.php

I've read through the documentation contained here but I don't understand how I am supposed to fix this problem. If I have not changed anything on my server, then why would a change the ImageMagick developers make affect my site?

I need to fix this asap. Help!

Thanks.

Did you have ImageMagick to begin with? I seem to remember getting this error myself when I tried it, but I knew I didn't have ImageMagick installed so I just ignored it and everything worked out fine and it hasn't come back since.

yeah, its been installed. I remember because when I ran the configuration wizard the first few times imagemagick was the only one that worked because the other graphic manipulator wasnt installed by my webhost. I think the other one is netprm or something.

The GR Applets uses a local IM install, totally unrelated to the installation on the host that Gallery is installed on.

I'm moving this thread to the Gallery Remote forum.

I have this same problem. I installed both the static and dll versions of ImageMagick on my Windows XP SP2 box. What else could be missing/wrong with this installation? I'm trying to get this working so that I can set up my less computer literate family and friends with their own photo galleries. Me, I just use FTP and all is well. Others, of course, would require too much training for me to be able to provide. Gallery seems to be a great solution for all involved.

Thanks.
