Having Trouble Installing Gallery Remote on Win2K

I'm running Gallery 1.3.2 and have been trying to install gallery remote 1.0 dowloaded today. Same problem with either version (VM / no VM). Goes trough the "extracting files" procedure, then just stops. It always leaves two processes running as well.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Russ

Just curious, am I asking this in the wrong place, or is it just that no one else has seen this problem?

I think it's because nobody's seen this problem before.

IstallAnywhere should create a temporary installation directory in your temp directory. Inside there should be an application. You can try to launch it. You can also activate console logging in the accompanying .lax file.

It's hard to know what's going on... Can you try to install on another machine, see if it works?

Ah ha! Figured it out. First of all, thanks for pointing out the temp directory. It was leaving a new 35MB directory there every time I tried to install. Second, logging errors didn't help as it just printed the normal messages until it hung. There were no errors.

It turned out to be a display problem. It turns out that InstallAnywhere doesn't work with multiple displays on my Radeon 7000 card. It was waiting for me to continue with the install, but there was no way to know as it never popped up the window. I disabled multiple displays and it worked fine. By the way, GR works fine with multiple displays, just not the installer.

p.s. There does seem to be a bug with GR itself. Dragging and dropping will stop working after the fist batch if I disable thumbnails. It just draws a red line where I try to drop them, but doesn't do anyting. Also, it has failed to let me quit either from the menu or the X a couple of times too.

I have Win2k, and I just installed GR. It open up fine, connects with my gallery and album...but then I try to select pics to upload or drag and drop and NOTHING happens at all (clicking the ADD button does not even work) Then to top it all off, the program would not close out (by hitting X)...I had to go into my task manager to shut it down.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? I really would like to use this feature (GR) so I can have others involved in the gallery doing work as well as myself. Thanks in advance.

The closing bug is fixed in 1.0.1-b1. For the rest, please send a log, so I can figure out what's happening.
