Am I just stupid? re: stored image size G1 vs. G2

I'll start off with a BIG thanks to the devs of G1 and G2, both great products in their own rights. For G1, as testified by the wide use and popularity. G2 because ... I think, therefore it is. :)

Now, to my dilemma: I think I'm daft. I cannot, and have searched here with no good affirmative results, find out how to, in G2, remove the full-size version of my uploaded image. Sure, I can resize it locally and upload the max size to begin with, but I now that it's there, can it be removed and save some of the disk space I'm payin' for?

That spawns my second question: am I just missing the setting somewhere which tells G2 to resize on upload, discarding the original file, and creating my resizes + thumbnail only, as I am used to in G1?

Thanks for any attempts at fixing my ignorance. :)

Do edit-photo and in the rotate/scale tab you can scale down the image; uncheck "preserve original" to actually throw away the full size image and just keep the resize.

G2 does not (yet) have the capability to scale down the original right when you upload it.

OK. Cool. I'll do that for some existing pics.

For the near future, then, I'll either use GR to resize before upload (but then must retitle), or use GR to upload to my G1 "mirror" and import to G2. I love the import. So fast and easy.

Thanks!
