Hello,

I'm looking for a nice solution to managing video content and was wondering if you think Gallery is a viable option. In the future could I have members upload via Remote and have account restrictions (upload, and only delete their videos).

Kind Regards

I was going to ask this question, googled it, and realised that then someone else had, three years ago. And there was no response, so I guess it is fair to assume that Gallery is not tremendously video friendly.

I had a look through about half of the gallery examples site and there was only one gallery that mentioned video in its description. It had quicktime videos which were too slow to download.

I would be happy to convert to flash before upload.

I see that there is something called plumi that converts for you.

Actually you did not research very well.
View our video samples here.
We also support serverside transcoding to flashvideo (or any format) via gallery.
Just take a look at our site.
