I have a website on a shared hosting server. I installed G2 using the MySQL server. During installation I set a password for my admin account, and after G2 was installed I tried to login. This is the response I get:
Your login information is incorrect. Please try again.
I know I'm typing the correct password, because I even went back to the installation and performed the admin user creation step again, and tried to login again, and it failed.
I have no clue why it's not letting me login

zlyles, very strange. i guess it won't work in this case, but already tried clearing your browser cookies (only cookies called GALLERYSID have to be deleted).
but what's wrong with your installation?
could both of you fill out the support template and post a link to a phpinfo.php page on your server?
the support template is this text that appears when you create a new forum topic in the support forum, i.e. here. (G2 version, php version, mysql version, ...)

I have the same problem. It installed fine but then upon first time login "Your login information is incorrect. Please try again."
As far as I can tell reading these posts it appears to be a php 5 issue. I tried zend.ze1_compatibility_mode = On in php.ini but that didn't work.
I am currently trying to downgrade to php4 to see if that fixes this.
I did read a post on this site that said php5 wasn't compatable. If that turnes out to be the case, is there a Gallery code change fix one could do?
Gallery version (not just "2"): 2.1
PHP version (e.g. 4.3.11): 5.1.4
PHPInfo Link (see FAQ): will pm on request
Webserver (e.g. Apache 1.3.33): 2.2.2
Database (e.g. MySql 4.0.11): 5.0.22
Activated toolkits (e.g. NetPbm, GD): none
Operating system (e.g. Linux): Windows
Browser (e.g. Firefox 1.0): Firefox 1.0.7, IE most current
