Hi,

I couldn't find anything to this question by searching and hope, I'm not warming up an old topic.
I want to use a component more than once in a mambo installation. Is this possible?

I need to have several independent photo archives that shall be presented on one site.

Yes, I know that it would be possible to use a wrapper around five standalone galleries to implement that but oviously this is not really ideal.

I would like to try if it's possible to install gallery in mambo as component more than once.

I would try if someone could point me to where I have to do changings or wether that's possible at all or someone's yet done that...

gallery.xml
1. db-table "mos_gallery" would need to be renamed.

what else?
Thanks, southy

you have to change more. i sent you a component for a second gallery.
just have a look to it and make your 3-5 component by yourself.

because there is also a part inside the gallery you are probably not able to have different rights. (except rolebased)

to do also something for the forum and the other users you can write a short howto ;-)

I had a similar question. I believe a few code changes, like adding a "***2" to all necessary changes, or even "***3" and so forth can add a few more albums altogether. If anyone can please just tell us what to change in the xml code, php code in the com_gallery script. Then does anything have to be changed in the classes/mambo folder of gallery. Any help is appreciated.

Its the same problem.
my hack is for a second gallery. if you can make a diff to the original code, you will see what to change for gallery3,4,...x

Keep in mind that a part of the Gallery-Code is inside the Gallery itselt.
This is not changed, so all userrights are same like in your first gallery.

Hope it helps,
Palme
