Hi,

I have been a gallery user for a long time. Keep up the great work!

I used to upload photos to my gallery (v1.4.2) by making my large high-quality JPEGs available in a directory, and set gallery off to parse the apache-generated index page for images, and check off which images I wanted to upload to a particular album. Version 1.4.4-pl2 (and v.1.4.5-cvs-b125) seem to get rid of this feature. Now, when I attempt to upload by pointing gallery to a apache-generated index page, I get the error:

Fetching Urls...

http://mymachine.static.net/pics/ Error: Invalid file type; net/pics/ !

Processing status...

I also get the same results without the trailing /. I get the same results in both Safari and IE, which leads me to believe it may not be a browser problem...

I installed 1.4.3-pl2 for the heck of it, and its behavior is consistent with what I am seeing in 1.4.2. It starts breaking after that.

Is this a known bug? Was what I was using a known feature? I would really like it back - it made it a piece of cake to add hundreds of images to a webpage without using the gallery remote program (the images I want to upload are usually not on my local machine).

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Please cc me an email if possible.

Thanks!

- Armen
