Gallery 2 and phpBB2.2.x Future

I am running a site, and I am currently using both Gallery 1 and phpBB 2.0.x. I was wondering if there was a plan to integrate Gallery 2 into phpBB 2.2.x when it becomes available.

What I am looking for and what is possible are two different things so let me ask if it is even possible to what I am going to ask.

Currently I have the attachment mod working on phpBB, (phpbb2.2 with include it by default) anyway when it comes to images. Galley does a much better job at handling them. I am wondering if there is any way when people upload an image attachment in phpBB for it to automatically place it in Gallery under that users “folder

A normal userbase (=1 login for both apps) integration into phpbb 2.2 should be no problem. i guess there are enough phpbb users to find someone to write a G2 module.

if you want phpbb 2.2 to use G2 for all img/movie uploads you'll have to write a modification for phpbb first.

you could put the whole logic into the phpbb 2.2 modification, as you'll have to modify phpbb anyway. you can also use G2 classes in the phpbb 2.2 mod.

It should be easy to use G2 as the image management system for PhpBB. I designed the API such that you should be able to easily create an extension to PhpBB for that purpose, but I haven't done any work on the actual integration yet (and probably won't work on it until G2 is closer to being done).
