I'm going to be posting a cart release this weekend(sun/late sat) that works with 1.5 so yes, it is still supported In regards to your questions:

1. Selling the prints is fine but what about offering the customer a download of the original photo file? This may be a 6mb tiff file, etc but we would like to offer them this option.. without any watermarks of course. We may sell a 5x7 for say... 10.00 and the original photo file for .... 25.00 or so.
Direct downloads aren't supported (yet), but you could do it via mail (they order, you send download link). I'll add it to the feature requests.
American wrote:
2. What about credit card integration via authorize.net or ??? Most want to use their cc but may balk at going through PayPal.
Planning to add more-if you have the knowledge you could add another option.
American wrote:
3. Searchable order/customer list? Once you have a quantity of customers it's a bit tough to find someone (think marketing or past order research) if you can't search the db...short of using phpMyAdmin..etc.
Yes.
American wrote:
4. Is this module still supported....sourceforged, etc? It seems to have quite a following and a dedicated forum, dev path, etc would be good to see.
I've applied for a sourceforge project-still waiting on approval.

Having been using the cart Mod2 for almost a year now with no problems. However recently when I tried to change some things in the album options it won't update. I can go into MySql and update things but not from admin section.. However orders work fine it's just the pricing options.
Anyone run across this problem.

Thank you for your responses!
I guess with the packages I could easily add a couple of products like 'download this photo' or 'add this photo to CD' and then send the link for downloads or tabulate the total for a CD and send it to them..... food for thought. We want to be able to offer print and digital content.
Will you post the download here or on another site?

notagoddess -
Let me know if / when you get this on SourceForge. I'd like to help out. I was actually about to write my own cart like this when I found the first version of Jenado.

I got "inspired" hahaha on Saturday night and decided to change the configuration a bit and make it friendler (letting you double-check common errors like db connection/path). The 'quick addition' didn't get done til 1am this morning. So I wanted to do my runthrough tests in case I broke something I've an obligation tonight, so let's say Wednesday (tues night for testing).

No apologies necessary. Those of us that have been at this awhile realize that most programming due dates come and go.. nature of the beast. This is for a project I am working on but nothing urgent. Better right than soon.

I ran into an issue I couldn't quite resolve last night, but I did promise a release, so: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gallerycart
(update-sourceforge is being a little flaky today. if you aren't connecting you can PM me for a different download url)
V0.1 is missing photo-specific pricing pages and the page for searching/updating clients (clients, not orders). I'll release a patch as soon as I get it done. This is fully functional-it's just missing a couple perks.
After a discussion with pomeroyt, I've decided to treat this project as a separate entity and not use the Jenado name so he has it for his own future use. Soooo for now I'm calling it 'Gallery Cart' (I know..it's a little obscure ;). Maybe there'll be a 'name this cart' contest in the future.
Understand that as of today, at least, the sourceforge pages are a bit empty (well or absent). Give me a little time to fill up the content. And help me by directing all issues/comments/etc regarding this cart (not jenado mod 1-3) to the forums/support pages at sourceforge so we don't spam this thread.
For the previous poster, this version does not work with Gallery2, or at least I haven't tested it, and given that the interface is completely different I doubt it would. I suggest you look in the Gallery2 forums for an answer to your question.
I'll make a formal release post (new thread when I get those missing pages fixed.

notgoddess,
Have not even got it downloaded yet but wanted to register for the forums and give you a big thanks for working on this. For those of us that do not have the knowledge to do it ourselves you are of great help. I am setting up a third copy of my gallery on my site to play with this and test it out. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again

Ok I have found one little hand up. Not even an issue with the cart but a difference between IE and Firefox. On the album view I get two slightly different layouts. This would normally not be a problem but the way I am integrating all this into my site it is screwing with me.
in IE:
picture
item
select box, add to cart <----these two are side by side
I really need a way to figure out how to get the select box and add to cart to appear underneath each other as in firefox
Firefox
picture
item
select box
add to cart
Not important at all but if there is a quick fix I would also like to have the select box and add to cart to be underneath the picture in the individual layout as well. Once again this is not that important.
Other than these two things that may only apply to me, This thing kicks ass. It was super easy to set up and I have already got headers and footers modified for my use. This is the only small issue I am still having. I will highly recommend this to anyone. You have done one hell of a job and I can not wait to see what you have in store for us in the future.

notgoddess,
This is awesome - I've always loved this project and you've made it even better!
I installed and configured GalleryCart and I'm having issues trying to add products. I'm not a PHP guru, so can anyone make sense of this for me? (I'm assuming it's an issue with my config.)
I receive the following error after submitting a product in the admin page:
Warning: Unexpected character in input: ' ' (ASCII=12) state=1 in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 2987
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 2987

thanks I would ask that people post on the sourceforge forum, so as not to make this thread longer...or I'll post a new topic thread tonight here and folks can use that.
To your problem: that sounds like there is a ' ' that is missing a . to concatenate it with another string, like: $foo.' ' $bar should be $foo.' '.$bar; Look at that file and scan it for such a problem. It might also be above that line...look for the last ; before it and it would be one a line after that, but before or on 2987.
Farbenstern,
I will be happy to help you, tho this thread is closed (guess locking turned off
Gallery Cart has it's own forums/support system at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gallerycart
A problem I see right off is that you don't have the cart files on the approved list in gallery/index.php
you need to add at minimum the following to the allowed files list:
cart/cart.php, cart/checkout.php, cart/status.php
If you have problem with the admin panel you'll need to add those files as well.
Gallery Cart isn't running embedded too well yet-still working on that.
Did you add GC as a separate module? Right now it's designed to run as part of the Gallery module (if you did that might be the source of the foreach). The foreach is an error in Mambo-it's not getting the right info for $modules.
If you wish to start a support thread at SF, it will be easier for to track.
Also know there are translation issues with GC v0.42. There is a solution, but you have to edit a few files.
It will be fixed in the next release (working full time to get it out in early January).

I have not yet been addressed all the issues with embedding.
For most it works, but when you view your cart you aren't embedded inside mambo.
The error is actually coming from Mambo, which is why I asked if you had tried to add it as a module-maybe it is trying to find a module that does not exist (GC has none).
You still need to add the cart files to your 'safe to include' list in gallery's index.php-click on your 'view cart' button and it will give you the error/instructions.

This is supposed to be a closed thread, but posting a followup.
We had to change the include calls in GC so any that did not reference the absolute path
(e.g. include('./yada') did so (e.g. include(dirname(__FILE__)).'/yada);
There were a few in cart.php and other files. That let GC be included in Mambo.
I'll be checking and correcting any files that have this issue for the next release.
The foreach() error is a Mambo bug-people have gotten it with Gallery and other installs. We could not find a reason for it but tried a workaround. The error is happening because $modules is null (empty), so we added a wrapper around the foreach to check that case:
foreach ($modules as $module) {
$GLOBALS['_MOS_MODULES'][$module->position][] = $module;
}
