Random block standalone w/ Gallery 1.4.1?

Does anyone have this running ok?
I cannot get it to work. I tried several versions posted in this forum.

Also, I am interested in making the highlight image for each album random. I.E. the first page of gallery should show random images for each gallery instead of always the same one. Is this possible?

Phuw, I got the block_random.php script to work now after fixing one of the bugs.
Anyone have an idea about the second question regarding showing a random image for each album?
