1.4.1 - Unable to write to /config.php.

error message:

Unable to write to /config.php.

You are missing either config.php or .htaccess.

I have read the board and tried everything with no luck. I then went back and installed 1.3.4 and things worked fine. From there I tried to upgrade to 1.4.1 and encountered the same problem. I am really confused.

Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).

Apache version: not sure
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): 4.0.6
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagik
Operating system: Linux Red Hat
Web browser/version (if applicable): Mozilla Firebird and IE6

I have this same problem. Where can I get a copy of 1.3.4?

Apache Version: 1.3.26
PHP version: 4.0.6
Graphics Toolkit: NetPBM
Operating System: UNIX, SunOS src 5.7

hi there.
i had the same problem - on mac os 10.3 and the preinstalles php and apache versions.
by following a tip here in the forum i changed "write.inc". now it works.

i changed write.inc. still no luck on it.

i had 1.3.4 on my computer form a previous install.

i am following the documentation to the "t". I have gotten no further.
