rotating multiple images quickly

Snapfish has a wonderful feature wherein you can rotate multiple images in different directions, all on a single submit, by clicking on (zero or) one of four icons (could be radio buttons or something to keep it simple...) for each photo -- you click on whichever side you want to be "up".

Is this patented, or something? Could Gallery do things this way? It's a LOT easier than going through one by one and picking 'rotate counter-clockwise' or 'rotate clockwise' ... and I don't know anyone who has ever used 'flip'.

From a cognitive load standpoint, it's far easier to pick the correct orientation outright than to pick the action that will lead to the correct orientation.
