I'm having problems entering the "full server path to Gallery2", I get the error message:
"The path entered could not be found on this server"
the server path I'm using is:
c:/wamp/www/mywebsite/gallery2 (and I've tried all other combinations)
Both Drupal and Gallery 2 are working fine independently, and I've set clean URLs on both (I've followed the steps so far in the set up guide)
Previously I have set up Gallery2 on Drupal 6 and did have some problems before with this (but different computer), but remember having to insert some snippets of code. I've searched the relevant forums and nothing seems to be getting me past this stage! Any help on how to further proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running the latest version of Gallery2 with drupal-7.28 on Wampserver 2.5.

Some php applications think that the directory separator on windows is double forward slash // ie. c://wamp//www//mywebsite//gallery2

also why not run in *nix VM on windows far less headaches.

No luck with the double forward slash.

Not sure what nix VM is, but will look it up?

I've used Wamp server for two previous sites so am a bit reluctant to change. Any further suggestions on my issue would be gratefully received.

I tried to contact 'Dayo' who I think is maintaining the G2Drupal module, but not sure if he is maintaining this any more.

thanks in advance for any help,

cw.

A few minor comments first

1. "I'm running the latest version of Gallery2 ..." is not a particularly good way of telling what version of G2 you are running. In future, specify the exact version you are running as you did with your Drupal version. Helps avoid confusion.

2. I have not received any contact from you or anyone else on this so I not sure what you mean by "I tried to contact 'Dayo' ...". In any case, the way to make contact is either here on the forum or, as stated in the instructions in the codex, the support site. :)

Moving on, your issue is because you are running a Windows server and I only ever developed and tested the module on Linux.
Looking at the code, the issue appears to be a minor one which should be be fixed if you install Version 0.9.6 in place of 0.9.5.

Good luck!

Hi Dayo,

Thanks for the reply. I will install 0.9.6.
I did try to join your forum Capture360.Net (twice) and registered but did not receive an email to confirm this. Hence was not able to post. Going back into your site with my user name and password I received the message that I was already registered, but was still shut out of the website for comments (unregistered) - there might be a bug here?

The last comments on the site were a few years ago, so was not sure if you were still maintaining the site, sorry for the confusion.

thanks again,

Please discard the 0.9.6 files you downloaded and redownload. There is a problem with the version I put up originally.

On the registration on the other site, it appears the IP addresses you attempted to register from were being used by forum spammers as recently as in July 2014. As such, you were prevented from registering.

I will manually activate the account but you might as well post here.

OK., thanks. I've have had constant spam problems with my sites.

I downloaded a version of 0.9.6 earlier, so am blocked from another download, is this a 24hr block?

I went through a period of spam and bot squashing and cannot recollect.
I think it is 15 mins ... shouldn't be 24hrs.
You could try clearing your browser cookies and trying again.

OK., Thanks Dayo, configuration has saved! I'll continue with the setup (hopefully will all go smoothly). My old site there was a 'gallery settings' tab in configuration, there is no tab in configuration in the Drupal 7 site?

Please bear in mind that this is a totally different module from what you had before and more importantly, that you are not going to get the same level of functionality as the other module for Drupal 6.
As you might be able to infer from the codex, a few items on the roadmap are pending and unfortunately, not being developed.

I did get halfway through the next important item which is user/session integration but never completed/released it.

Essentially, what you get now is a visual integration where both your drupal and g2 installations look the same but are still completely independent with no interaction apart from G2 being made to look like Drupal when the module is active.
