in a word can I add a picture with a hyperlink to the header text area
if not, can or has anyone a dummies guide to how to do it ,, please remember that your trying to teach someone who has NO programming skills what so ever.
Thanks floridave for the info , yes I did say in a word I also said a dummies guide and yes adding the two modules works and this does seem very easy to work with
BUT
I can not seem to be able to get the images into the editor. (as using dreamweaver does)
OK here goes , image 1 located in folder "buttons" called "inde3.PNG"
image 2 located in folder "buttons" called "gallery3.PNG"
this folder is at the same level as gallery3 folder
IE website.co.uk/buttons
website.co.uk/gallery3
in the insert / edit image - location , I have tried several different ways of locating the pictures ie
buttons/inde3.PNG
../buttons/inde3.PNG
../../buttons/inde3.PNG
../../../buttons/inde3.PNG (etc etc etc)
i even moved them to lib/images and tried that but no effect
SO HELP what am i doing wrong ,, many thankings inadvance

Well you did say 'in a word'.
Install the http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:purifier
Admin -> Appearance -> Theme options -> Header text.... Edit as you see fit.
You might want the http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:edit_tinymce for some editing ease.

Why not just use the full url to the image?
http://website.co.uk/buttons/inde3.PNG
