Gallery 2 removed from Ubuntu repositories?

I have been running Gallery2 under Ubuntu for years. I just upgraded to 14.04 and gallery2 appears to be broken. Best I can tell, it's gone from the repos for trusty as seen at http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package_metas

Anyone have any idea what changed?

Shouldn't you be asking the Ubuntu people instead?
