Hello!

Gallery is a great system for managing and present my fotos!!

But there is one feature that I am missing:

The problem is that there are 2 kinds of persons that view my albums: The first one complains that there are so many boring pictures, and the second one wants to have access to all the fotos that I have taken.

My favored solutions would be this:

I want to assign "quality"-values to the fotos, for example a number between 0 (poor) and 5 (outstanding).
Visitors of the album should be able to switch between the levels, so everyone can individually decide if he only wants to see the best fotos, or the complete collection including the boring ones.
Also the owner should have the option to restrict the values that can be viewed (for exampe, only fotos with a quality value between 2 and 5 can be viewd). So the concept of hiding the pictures would be included in this quality-concept.

The default configuration could be: 0 (hide) and 1 (visible), and visitors are only allowed to see pictures with value 1. So it would be the same as hiding pictures.

Please note that my suggestion sounds similar to the new voting/ranking system, but in fact it is different:
What I want is that the owner of the fotos can categorize his fotos in different levels of quality. Voting/ranking is about to get an answer from the viewers what they think about the fotos. It would make perfect sense to enable both concepts at the same time.

I think that the idea to assign quality-values to my fotos is quite natural: Here (look at the section philosophy) you can find the thoughts of a guy who coded a small kde application to manage his fotos. The possibilities are quite restricted, but assignig quality-values is possible.

It would be nice to read what you think about my idea.
