I inadvertently hit Remove old files on a client's website just now... and it removed all files entirely! Guess I don't understand how it works, then... thought "old" would relate to date entered? Is there any possible way to retrieve all those...or do I have to crawl back to the client and have her re-enter everything? I was trying to do maintenance, since the gallery was very slow to display.
using version 3.0.4

You need to explain a bit more about where you did this.
Doesn't the host have backups?

OK... in admin area of Gallery, using "maintenance", I clicked on Remove old files.
Now the first page of the Gallery on the site displays no albums or photos at all... however, if I search for the names of the albums, I can pull them up and see the photos. From the server, I am able to download all of the albums and photos.... just don't know how to re-install them (or what to check in the .html) so they appear on the main Gallery page.

Any ideas?

The remove old file maint function does not remove albums etc. It just removed logs and other similar files.
That being said it might be something else that is causing the issue.
can you login? if so disable as many module as you can and see if the albums show back up. If they don't will have to go from there.

Disabled most of the modules (Comments, Info, Tags) ... made no difference. Ran the "Fix Your Gallery" in maintenance mode. No difference.
Main page of Gallery still does not display the albums or photos... but you CAN search for keywords and find the photos that way.
Help!!
Should I change the password to Gallery, while I'm at it?
(Would this have anything to do with Apache version?)
Also, this is what's listed under Gallery settings: (anything here?)
gallery blocks_dashboard_center a:4:{i:6;a:2:{i:0;s:7:"gallery";i:1;s:7:"welcome";}i:7;a:2:{i:0;s:7:"gallery";i:1;s:15:"upgrade_checker";}i:8;a:2:{i:0;s:7:"gallery";i:1;s:12:"photo_stream";}i:9;a:2:{i:0;s:7:"gallery";i:1;s:11:"log_entries";}}

Could be as we are version 3.0.9 now and a lot of different bug fixes have been done.
Upgrade would be my suggestion.
