[SOLVED] gallery running but no pictures showing

Gallery version 2.3.2
PHP version 5.3.10
Webserver Apache/2.2.22
Database mysqli 5.5.34
Toolkits ImageMagick, Gd
Operating system Linux 3.2.0-57
Browser Firefoxm 26.0

My gallery is up and running, but both in the frontend and the backend I only see this: attached screenshot.
When I hover over the link it says <site>/gallery/v/rome2008
By accident the files - not the folders - in the gallery-root were deleted (like main.php and config.php). I copied the files from a new download and ran /gallery/install to restore the config file. The gallery pictures are in ../../g2data

What 's wrong here?

looks like you have to reconfigure the rewrite module
