Modules and themes not showing

I have installed a few modules and a theme, but none of the installed modules or theme are showing on the admin page.

All steps where followed and the modules where extracted under the modules folder (modules/module-name)

Same goes for the theme.

How can I resolve this issue?

The stock ones do?

Yeah the stock modules are visible.

I have tried removing the modules and re adding but they are just not showing.

Are you unziping the modules?
Do they look similar in file structure to the stock modules?

I was unzipping the files and transfering using the normal folder structure.

After removing all modules again and adding them it seems to work.

If there docs are not clear enough on a specific aspect please let us know with some suggested wording so we can correct.
