Hello everybody

I'm mentioning a problem with the permissions of my albums. I have 3 albums in the root directory. Each album is for designated users only, for every album I have a user-group.

Album A should be visible for group Z only
Album B should be visible for group Y only
Album C should be visible for group X only

But as soon as I set the permissions for album A, I'm not able to set permissions for album B, there's a lock for the group Y. When I set the permissions for album B (by clicking on the lock and set permissions then), the permissions are changed for album A and I have a lock for group Z in album A.

Same problem for Album C.

What am I doing wrong?

regards,
Michael

Most likely setting permission on the root album not in the album in question.
Go into the album you want to change permissions for.

this doesn't work either... exactly the same... :-(

there's a message on the window what allows me to set permissions:

Quote:
Oh no! Your server needs a configuration change in order for you to hide photos! Ask your server administrator to enable mod_rewrite and set AllowOverride FileInfo Options to fix this

but hiding pictures for everyone works well...

I don't know. It works for me and 100s of not 10000s of others.

Doesn't the lock mean that the permissions are being inherited from the parent? From memory if you click on the lock, Gallery takes you to the permissions of the parent album.

So in your case albums A,B and C are inheriting the permissions from the root. I think in your root album, you are going to have to have all 3 groups having access and then restrict the permissions to the relevant groups for all three albums.
