Module Remote not working

Hi all
I apologize for opening a new topic for an old issue already covered by a topic, but that topic is closed and I was unable to figure out how to reopen it.

I installed the module Remote to allow Gallery Remote 1.5 to work, but I were unable to make it working.

I applied the patches as stated on the Remote module installation instructions page, but when I try to open the url /gallery3/gallery_remote2.php an Error 404 occurs and apache error log reports:

[Sat Oct 05 19:21:18 2013] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] script '/var/www/gallery3/main.php' not found or unable to stat

When I try to connect from the Gallery Remote client its log reports:

2985276|TRACE|GalComm |Trying protocol 2 for http://webserver/gallery3/
2985284|TRACE|GalComm |tryComm /gallery3/gallery_remote2.php: 404
2985284|TRACE|GalComm |Trying protocol 2.5 for http://webserver/gallery3/
2985286|TRACE|GalComm |tryComm /gallery3/main.php?g2_controller=remote.GalleryRemote&g2_form[cmd]=no-op: 404
2985286|ERROR|Gallery |No protocol implementation found

In this case apache error log reports:

[Sat Oct 05 22:30:41 2013] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] script '/var/www/gallery3/main.php' not found or unable to stat

Pretty weird...I got remote to work just fine yesterday, it uploaded several hundred images and then went back to use it today and got the same gallery_remote2.php all of a sudden. I uninstalled, reinstalled, re-patched...everything I could think of...and still not working. Nothing changed overnight, so I don't get it?
