How does one download images?

Gallery is obviously a first rate environment for its purpose. However, there is a basic capability that I'd have thought would be there but that I can't find. This is to download a selection of one or more pics out of a gallery. I'm working with a team and want them to be able to see a gallery and easily pull down copies of stuff that is useful. After some searching, I've found a zip plugin that seems handy, but nothing that directly provides the capability I'm looking for. Obviously I can right click and proceed from there with standard browser features, but either I've overlooked a more formal way to select and download sets of pics from a gallery or there isn't one. Does anyone have any hints on what I'm missing, or on better options for a download? Thanks. |

What are the details in the capabilities you are after?

I am not sure about how to do it in G3, but in G2 we used a module that basically let users add photos to a cart, then once added to the cart, they could download all of the photos as a zip file. It worked very well for editors to select photos they wanted to use for a news story and send that zip file out with the posted article to the appropriate institutions.
