Hey!
I am new with Gallery3, so please excuse me if my question is dumb. I have searched manually through this forum (as far as this is possible without a search function) and haven't found a thread with a similar problem.

I have uploaded an image, which is displayed in different colors than the original when resized in Gallery3. Why is that?

Compare:
original: http://urbanexpedition.eu/gallery/gallery3/var/albums/fachwerk_sm.jpg?m=1378499053
result in Gallery3.0.9: http://urbanexpedition.eu/gallery/gallery3/var/resizes/fachwerk_sm-01.jpg?m=1378502602

I use GD engine by default. Is there some setting I have to update?

Thanks in advance!
Pavlo

I would try the IM or GM toolkit.
Try the command line examples from GD and see what your results are.

Those are disabled because my server does not support exec() function. As far as I understood, it is disabled so that my processes could not run endlessly on the server. I have a shared server, so there is no way of enabling it and I am not aware of a way of running command line tasks remotely.

Any other suggestion perhaps?

I don't use GD because it is a resource hog and my shared host(s) have IM and GM installed and ready.
You would have to dig though the code to see if there is too much adjusting of the image using the GD toolkit. . There is also a setting the the advanced section to adjust to see if that helps:
image_quality (75) and image_sharpen (15) From system/libraries/drivers/Image/GD.php there is a comment; "Amount should be in the range of 18-10"
See if adjusting those helps.
