Gallery 2.2 to Gallery 2.3.2 update with different db version (Mysql 3.23 to 5.5)

Hello,

I'm new in using Gallery and I have to move a Gallery 2.2 installation on apache server (php version : 4.4, Mysql version : 3.23) to my local Wampserver (php 5.3, mysql 5.5.24-log). The goal is to upgrade the Gallery to the newest version (3.x).
I have first to upgarde to 2.3.2 as I read in the docs, then upgrade to 3.x.
The main point is the database version, I'm afraid I will have problems with that. So before beginning, I would appreciate if somebody could tell me if the mysql 3.23 database backup will work on mysql 5.5.x. If not, is there a script available to do the upgrade ?
Second question, I didn't find 2.2 version on sourceforge. Could I install on my local server the 2.3.2 version then use the files I backed up (the album) and the mysql 3.23 db backup ?
