The following information is required to get an answer: I must first explain that during a recent addition and the moving of photos from one sub-album into a new nesting sub-folder, I deleted what I thought was left to be just a photo, it now appears it was another sub-album, however, doing this has stopped me from being able to open the gallery on the website, it appears the link has been broken. - I tried opening the individual Albums by adding for example album12 see here: This works and I am able to select the various photos and sub-folders, this I can do from albums 1 through to 36. So, I when through the Gallery configuration process to see if this would show any issues and in the recommended things: <Directory /home/sites/methlickcricketclub.co.uk/public_html/gallery> If you are running PHP in CGI mode, this message is unavoidable. so I carried out the instructions and the response I got back when I selected the Main gallery on the webpage was: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator at to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. So I have now edited out "<Directory /home/sites/methlickcricketclub.co.uk/public_html/gallery> So I am at a loss at the moment, what to do next it certainly appears I have done something wrong, but i have been using this gallery now for 4 years or more and no problem with it, although I do appreciate that perhaps I should now upgraded, the only thing is I do not want to loose the photos and remarks made. So would it be possible to upgrade to another newer version which would mend the link? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks |

Just to add a little more information to the issue I have.
Originally when opening gallery on the website page gallery: http://www.methlickcricketclub/gallery/index.php
Gallery would open with Three Albums, these are :
1, Members-Area: http://www.methlickcricketclub.co.uk/gallery/Members-area
2, Cricket: http://www.methlickcricketclub.co.uk/gallery/cricket
3, Special Events: http://www.methlickcricketclub.co.uk/gallery/specialevents
Now Albums 1 & 3 will opening using the links above no problems, but 2 (cricket) will not opening using the link above.
It was sub-folders in the cricket album I had last worked on when the problem occurred.
To open the sub-folders within the cricket album.
URL: http://www.methlickcricketclub.co.uk/gallery/album11
as an example
I hope this additional information helps
Thanks

Issues such as this is why you have a regular automated backup of your site.
Just roll back to the last working backup of the site.
Less headache than debugging stuff.

Hi Dayo
Just to explain I took a full back this year, February however, when I tried to do a recover an issue with corruption occurred, which prevented me from continuing re-installing the backup, I have not had a reason to do a recovery before now. So I am checking why this should be the case, since the website is on hosting website.
Thanks for your help

See if your host can help out. Any decent one will have backups of the sites on their servers although if you haven't activated (or your host doesn't offer) the option for independent backups of your site(s), restoring might be an issue.
Still worth checking with them.

Hi Dayo
The issue has been fixed, as explained before I had made a back-up using the hosting company's backup/restore application and discovered there is a problem with corrupt files, so I will making a report to the them as to this issue.
Fortunately, I made what I would call a physical backup of the "gallery" and "albums" directory, a few months ago, so decided to replace the both albums with the ones I had backed up, 10,240 Files.
This has resolved the issue and I am now able to open up the gallery and the volumns/pictures, the only issue I have now is to re-group the volumns into specific main directories, I had before.
I will take your advice though to see about independent back-ups.
Thanks
