How to add to gallery a big video collection without copy?

Hi

First of all I have to say that I'm very happy with the options the gallery3 offers to me. Thanks for that!

I'm using gallery3 on my own home server and I have full control over the OS. Over the years I have collected very useful video lessons about programming.
The size of my video lessons' collection is about 50Gb, so my reasonable question is:
how can I play these videos using gallery3?

As you can guess the copying of the whole collection is a waste of disk space.

Is there any other way?
How to add without copy?

http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:item_iframes or http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:item_links
or use the server add module to add them and once done delete the originals.
or use G2 and use the sym-link module or write a similar module for G3.
