Notification of new releases/patches?

Maybe I'm missing it (if so, I apologise, and someone please point me in the right direction); I don't see a single thread to which I could subscribe to just get notified when new patches/releases come out.
It seems that it would be necessary to monitor the whole forum to see when a new version thread is posted, and I just don't have time for that.
So I miss e.g. the 3.0.5 security release :(

How do I know, promptly when it happens, that a new patch or release has come out, without having to come back and check the forums directly, nor subscribe to the Gallery 3.x general forum (and hit 'Delete' for every new thread except those rare ones which announce new patches/releases)?
