Why original pictures are duplicated when server add ?

Hi,

I just installed Gallery and i'm using the server method. I created an "Albums" folder where all my pictures are.
When i add (import) folder from the add method; All the imported pic are duplicated in /var/Albums/*filesimported*

Why ???? we need rezize and optimised files ...ok but why duplicating original files???

Is it normal ?

Yes.
If this feature is so important to you you can use the sym_link module using G2 as G3 does not have that feature yet.

Hi, thx for your reply.
of course its important: a web server isn't a storage server. Good pratice: data/files are separates on SAN. (backup rules, HA, perf ...) O_o

so i prefer wait and keep using Piwigo.
