Embed videos module and Vimeo privacy

Hi all, I am a new Gallery user and I was looking for a way to embed my videos from Vimeo in an album. I was glad to find the embed videos module which works really fine... when the video is totally public. If the privacy settings of the video in Vimeo is set to "Hide this video from Vimeo.com", I get an invalid URL error message when adding the video. Is there a way to workaround this? Thanks. |

I have never used vimeo so can't confirm how there security works but I suspect the user has to be logged in to see the content. How is that going to happen?

Hi Dave,
Actually, when you set this privacy setting, the only way to see the video is to embed it somewhere. You don't need to be authenticated, it is just that the video cannot be found in the Vimeo.com directory.
I had a quick look to item iframes, but as far as I understand it doesn't create a thumbnail of the video but you have to provide one yourself, am I right?

Yes you have to create and add the thumbnail first.
