Gallery 3 loads some blank pictures and thumbnails

I have just moved my Gallery 3.0.4 site from a FreeBSD server to a Debian server. Using a fresh Debian install; followed the instructions here http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Installation_on_Debian to install Gallery and move the var folder from my Freebsd backup to the Debian box and imported my SQL db via phpmyadmin. Some pictures load great however some albums thumbnails are blank and some pictures that i click on show up blank. I have verified that the pictures do exist in var/albums.

examples:

the web site is http://www.kellycloud.net/

The album Francis Scott Key Bridge 2012-05-24 shows the thumbnail but when clicking on the picture it's just blank.

Also when uploading new pictures they also show up blank

Any suggestions?

Try the default wind theme.
try to edit the name and item 2012-05-15 (by Eye-Fi) removing the brackets.

Floridave,
As you can see I made the changes that you suggested and still the same issue. using "()" in the album name has never been a problem in all the years I have used Gallery. Changing to the default wind theme has not resolved the issue :(. Also since i've moved the server, each new picture uploaded is also blank.

any more idea's?

Before I suggest doing anything more complicated, did you try running the maintenance tasks?

In an effort to look into these issues more I restored my FreeBSD server, and Gallery was working perfectly once I went to maintenance mode and started the tasks Rebuild Images and Fix your Gallery the same issue came back. it does seem to be related to albums that contain "()" as Floridave pointed out. After some research i came cross a thread that suggested using the rescue mod would resolve this issue, however after enabling the module was unable to locate the task "fix/album photo hierarchy" the task "Fix internet addresses" and "ORM Validation has failed for items model" error occurred. What is going on with Gallery 3.0.4? it's been so great for so many years hopefully something can be done to resolve this.

Not to be the grammar police, but the first sentence seems to be a runon and I'm not sure if it "was working perfectly once I went to maintenance mode" or if going to maintenance mode is what caused the issue.

Either way, if it was at some point working again and the issue is the parentheses, can you do again whatever it is you did to get it working and then remove the parentheses (as @floridave suggested above)?

You might want to try an experimental version as well. There was some changes to allow for multiple dots in file names etc. Perhaps the parentheses where addressed as well.

At this point I would try anything to get my Gallery working again. what experimental version do you suggest?

All,
As suggested I upgraded to the experimental version and started the maintenance tasks. All of my issues are exactly the same.

Items in your gallery without parentheses seem to work.

I notice that. Anyway I spent about 3 hours last night and rebuilt my Gallery from scratch and restored photo's from backup not using parentheses this time.
